About ResumeMaker

A simple, free tool to check how well your resume matches a job description.

What it does

Upload your resume and paste in a job description — ResumeMaker scans both and shows you a match score, which required skills your resume already covers, and which ones it's missing. No guesswork about whether your resume is a good fit before you apply.

How the matching works

ResumeMaker reads the job description and automatically pulls out the skills, tools, and requirements mentioned in it — from bulleted skill lists, section headings, and even acronyms like "GPO" or "VPN" — rather than relying on a fixed, limited list. It then checks your resume against each one, including close variants (so "VPN" in your resume can still get credit against a JD asking for "VPN Configuration").

Everything runs as straightforward text matching — there's no AI model in the loop scoring your resume, so there's nothing to be biased by and no per-check cost, which is part of how this stays free.

Free, always

ResumeMaker is completely free with no usage limits — check as many resumes against as many job descriptions as you need.
